the  cost  to  change  lives

Assistance Dogs of the West (ADW) builds successful working partnerships between clients and dogs that empower people and open doors to new opportunities. In order to create such bonds, it takes 1,500 hours of dedicated training for each puppy:
And, it costs more than $35,000 to breed,
feed, care for, train, and place each of our dogs,
along with countless volunteer hours:
  • $1,000 buys veterinary, health and wellness care for a puppy for its entire training period.
  • $500 pays for spaying or neutering and x-rays.
  • $250 buys educational and training supplies including crates, clickers, etc.
  • $100 feeds one dog for a month during training.
  • $50 buys a service dog vest and a leash.
  • $25 buys two weeks of training treats.
  • Don't forget the 1,000s of volunteer hours from those who help with new litters, take dogs home on weekends, and join us for walks.
  • EVERY DONATION CHANGES LIVES!
